How to Set Up a Linksys Wiresless Broadband Router
In a few steps, you can be surfing the Internet on the couch, on the porch or even in bed. Linksys Wireless G routers allow multiple computers to use the same Internet access point without being connected to the broadband modem. To set up a home network is no longer a daunting task with the 2.4 ghz Wireless Router by Linksys.
Connect the broadband Internet modem to the computer using an Ethernet cable. Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the modem Internet port and the other end into the computer Ethernetport.
Connect the Broadband modem to the Linksys Wireless G router’s “Internet” port using an Ethernet cable. Connect the computer to one of the Linksys router’s four Ethernet ports using another Ethernet cable.
Plug the router into the power outlet. Turn on the router and modem, and make sure the all LED lights on the front of each device are lit. Turn on the computer and launch the Internet browser.
Enter “http://192.168.1.1” (without the quotations marks) into the browser’s address bar, and press “Enter.” The Linksys setup page will display.
